Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian Sweet Rolls or Potato Rolls
  • 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter, melted
  • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Pound Ground Beef (80/20 ratio)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • Salt and Black Pepper, to taste
  • 2 Cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Cup Shredded Pepper Jack Cheese
  • 1/2 Cup Diced Jalapeños
  • 1/2 Cup Black Beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/4 Cup Salsa
  • Green Onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sour Cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in the garlic powder. Set aside.
  3. Slice the 12 slider rolls horizontally in half. Arrange the bottom halves on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula. Drain excess grease.
  5. Stir cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper into the beef. Cook for 1 minute to toast spices.
  6. Distribute the seasoned meat evenly over the bottom halves of the buns.
  7. Sprinkle half of the cheddar and pepper jack cheese over the meat. Add black beans and jalapeños. Top with remaining cheese.
  8. Bake for 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
  9. Remove from oven. Place top halves of buns on sliders. Brush generously with garlic butter.
  10. Return to oven and bake for 3-5 minutes until tops are golden brown and crispy.
  11. Cool for 2 minutes to allow cheese to set. Slice into individual sliders.
  12. Garnish with green onions and serve with sour cream.

Notes

For best results, use block cheese shredded at home for a smoother melt. Ensure meat is well-drained to prevent soggy buns. Let sliders cool for 2 minutes before cutting to help them hold together. Can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerated.
