A simple, refreshing detox water made with thinly sliced cucumber, bruised mint leaves, and cold filtered water. Perfect for daily hydration with a cool, clean taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium cucumber, thinly sliced (English cucumber preferred)
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves, gently bruised
  • 8 cups (1.9 liters) cold filtered water
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Optional: Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Wash and rinse the cucumber and mint leaves under cold water, then pat dry.
  2. Slice the cucumber into thin rounds about 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick; optionally cut slices in half.
  3. Gently bruise the mint leaves by crushing lightly between your palms or with a spoon.
  4. Add the cucumber slices and bruised mint leaves into a large pitcher.
  5. Pour in 8 cups (1.9 liters) of cold filtered water and add 1-2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice if using. Stir gently.
  6. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour, ideally 3-4 hours to infuse flavors.
  7. Serve chilled over ice cubes if desired, garnished with a cucumber slice or mint sprig.

Notes

Do not leave cucumber slices in water for more than 24 hours to avoid bitterness. For longer storage, strain solids after 12 hours and keep chilled. Use cold, filtered water for best taste. Bruising mint gently releases flavor without bitterness. Optional variations include adding berries, ginger, basil, or using sparkling water before serving.
