A quick and easy gourmet snack combining creamy burrata, sweet fresh figs, spicy hot honey, and savory prosciutto on toasted rustic bread. Perfect for entertaining or a special weeknight treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 68 ripe fresh figs, halved
  • 8 ounces burrata cheese, fresh and room temperature
  • 46 thin slices prosciutto
  • 4 slices rustic country bread or sourdough, toasted
  • 23 tablespoons hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary sprigs (optional)
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Brush each slice of bread lightly with extra virgin olive oil. Toast in a toaster or under the broiler for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crisp but not burnt. Set aside.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Place the halved figs cut-side down and warm for about 2 minutes until they start to caramelize gently. Turn carefully and warm the skin side for another 1-2 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
  3. Spread a generous amount of burrata on each toasted bread slice, letting its creamy interior ooze slightly. Layer 1 or 2 slices of prosciutto on top.
  4. Arrange the warm fig halves over the prosciutto.
  5. Drizzle 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of hot honey over each toast, adjusting to your preferred spice level.
  6. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Add fresh thyme or rosemary sprigs for aroma if using.
  7. Serve immediately to keep the bread crisp and burrata creamy.

Notes

Use medium-low heat to warm figs gently to avoid burning. Bring burrata to room temperature before spreading for best creaminess. Assemble just before serving to keep bread crisp. For dairy-free, substitute burrata with cashew cheese or almond ricotta. For gluten-free, use gluten-free bread.
