These easy overnight oats jars are the perfect breakfast solution for busy mornings. With just five minutes of prep the night before, you can enjoy a creamy, satisfying, and customizable breakfast that keeps you full until lunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (dairy, almond, oat, or soy)
  • ½ cup (120g) Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
  • 2 tablespoons (20g) chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Toppings (optional): fresh berries, sliced banana, chopped nuts, nut butter, shredded coconut, dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients.
  2. In a medium bowl or directly in your jar, combine 1 cup (240ml) milk, ½ cup (120g) Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons (30ml) honey or maple syrup, and 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Add 1 cup (90g) rolled oats, 2 tablespoons (20g) chia seeds, and a pinch of salt. Stir until evenly combined.
  4. Divide the mixture evenly into 4 jars (each about 8 ounces/240ml), filling each about ¾ full.
  5. If using toppings, layer them on top now.
  6. Seal the jars tightly and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
  7. In the morning, stir the oats. Serve cold or microwave for 45-60 seconds if desired. Add a splash of milk if too thick.

Notes

For best texture, use rolled oats (not instant or steel-cut). Stir chia seeds well to avoid clumps. The oats will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days; flavors develop over time. If you prefer warm oats, microwave for 45-60 seconds, stirring halfway. Add a splash of milk after microwaving if too thick.
