A quick, flavorful one-pan meal featuring crispy skin salmon and blistered green beans glazed in a sticky honey garlic sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets (6 ounces / 170 grams each)
  • 12 ounces (340 grams) fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and minced garlic. Set aside.
  2. Trim the ends off the green beans and pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels; season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering but not smoking.
  4. Place salmon skin-side down in the skillet. Press down gently for 10 seconds to prevent curling. Cook without moving for 4-5 minutes until skin is crisp and golden.
  5. Flip salmon carefully and cook for 2 minutes on the flesh side. Remove salmon from pan and set aside.
  6. Add remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet. Toss in green beans and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until beans are blistered and tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes. Adjust heat if beans brown too fast.
  7. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the beans, stirring to coat evenly. Return salmon fillets to the pan, nestling them among the beans. Spoon some sauce over the salmon.
  8. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and glaze everything.
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, or red pepper flakes if desired. Remove from heat once salmon is opaque and flakes easily and beans are tender.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before cooking for crispy skin. Avoid overcrowding the pan to allow green beans to blister properly. Use medium-high heat for best caramelization. For thicker fillets, finish cooking in a 375°F oven for 3-4 minutes after searing. Add a splash of water if sauce thickens too much to keep beans tender.
