A quick and easy 5-ingredient appetizer featuring smoked sausages wrapped in thick-cut bacon and coated in a sweet, salty, and tangy brown sugar glaze. Perfect for game day or last-minute gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16-ounce package Little Smokies (smoked sausages)
  • 1 pound thick-cut bacon
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease with cooking spray.
  3. Pat the Little Smokies dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  4. Cut bacon slices in half and wrap one half around each Little Smokie. Secure with a toothpick if necessary.
  5. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, black pepper, garlic powder, and apple cider vinegar until a wet, sandy consistency forms.
  6. Brush or spoon the glaze generously over each bacon-wrapped smokie.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through. Watch closely in the last 5 minutes to prevent burning.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes to allow the glaze to harden. Remove toothpicks before serving.

Notes

High heat is essential for crisping the bacon and caramelizing the sugar. Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure air circulation. For best results, use thick-cut bacon. If using a slow cooker, cook on low for 2-3 hours, though they will not be as crispy. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in an oven or air fryer.
