This sweet and salty snack mix is coated in a maple-cinnamon glaze and baked until perfectly crunchy. It’s the ultimate fall treat for cozy nights, game days, or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 3 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 1 ½ cups pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ⅓ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine Rice Chex, Corn Chex, pretzel sticks, and chopped pecans. Toss gently to distribute.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth and bubbling gently, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Pour the warm glaze over the cereal mixture. Fold gently with a spatula until every piece is evenly coated.
  5. Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even, single layer.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even toasting.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet, about 30-45 minutes. The mix will crisp up as it cools.
  8. Once cool, break up any large clusters into bite-sized pieces.

Notes

For best results, use real maple syrup (not pancake syrup) and fresh cinnamon. Stir every 15 minutes during baking to prevent burning. Let cool completely before storing to ensure crunchiness. Flavors improve after a day or two.
