Quick and easy no-bake Halloween treats featuring crispy rice cereal, gooey marshmallows, and sweet candy corn. Perfect for classroom parties, movie nights, or any fall gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (plus extra for greasing the pan)
  • 1 package (10 ounces) regular marshmallows
  • 6 cups rice krispie cereal
  • 1 cup candy corn (about 6 ounces), divided (reserve 1/4 cup for topping)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter, then line it with parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches of overhang on the long sides. Set aside.
  2. In a large pot or Dutch oven, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat. Swirl occasionally until melted.
  3. Add the entire 10-ounce bag of marshmallows. Stir constantly with a rubber spatula until fully melted and smooth, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from heat. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  5. Pour in 6 cups of rice krispie cereal. Fold gently with a cutting motion until the cereal is evenly coated, about 1 minute.
  6. Sprinkle in about 3/4 cup of candy corn (reserve 1/4 cup for topping). Fold gently 3-4 more times to distribute without overmixing.
  7. Scrape the mixture into the prepared pan. Using a second piece of parchment paper or lightly greased hands, gently press the mixture into an even layer without compacting too firmly.
  8. Immediately sprinkle the reserved 1/4 cup of candy corn over the top. Press them in very lightly so they stick.
  9. Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes until set.
  10. Once set, lift the entire block out using the parchment overhang. Place on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife (sprayed with cooking spray) to cut into squares. Makes 12 large or 24 small squares.

Notes

For best texture, use regular marshmallows (not mini). Add candy corn after removing from heat to prevent melting. Press mixture gently into pan to avoid hard treats. Best served within 24 hours. Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Do not refrigerate. Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
