Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 mini croissants, split horizontally
  • 1 pound deli-sliced roasted turkey breast, thick-cut
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese, halved
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (smooth)
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Using a serrated knife, carefully slice all 12 mini croissants in half horizontally. Place bottom halves in the prepared dish, cut side up.
  3. Spread a thin, even layer of Dijon mustard on the cut side of each bottom croissant half.
  4. Fold each slice of turkey in half and place on the mustard-spread croissant bottoms, overlapping slightly.
  5. Place one half-slice of Swiss cheese on top of each turkey pile.
  6. Place top halves of croissants back on, cut side down. Press down gently.
  7. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine melted butter, honey, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, garlic powder, and a pinch of flaky salt. Whisk until smooth.
  8. Generously brush tops of croissants with butter wash. Let first coat soak in for 2 minutes, then apply a second coat. Reserve remaining butter wash.
  9. Cover dish with foil and let sliders rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  10. Bake covered for 12 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 8-10 minutes until tops are deep golden brown and edges are crispy.
  11. Let sliders rest in dish for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Don’t skip the 15-minute rest before baking—it allows croissants to absorb butter wash for perfect texture. Day-old croissants work better than fresh. For make-ahead, assemble through step 8, cover, and refrigerate up to 24 hours; let sit at room temperature 20 minutes before baking. If using a dark metal pan, reduce oven temperature to 325°F to prevent burning.
